Working on new piece with dancers from KNCDC
Just had a great phone conversation with Sandra Woodall, who is designing the costumes for the piece I am making with the dancers from KNCDC and TMP. We just had a brainstorm about a way to utilize one of the craftspeople we met on our research trip to Korea. It’s beautiful when you are in the midst of integrating ideas that seem disparate at first, but necessary and meaningful, then you discover the reason they were all important and how they should have been married all along. I’m working on the installation for Segerstrom Center in Orange County and it’s been very fulfilling to work with a completely different set of collaborators at the same time. It’s the same in that the reasons these two pieces need to happen now keep presenting themselves in surprising and humbling ways.
